We were asked by a local online Tech company ( Raspberry PI ) to assist with their move to a larger premises due to business growth to a purpose made storage facility, having already helped them with a similar project previously, and a good working relationship, we made contact to arrange suitable time to meet on site and discuss their requirements.
Business need
The customer had asked us to design a solution that incorporated relocating the existing racking system at their new premises, while adding new pallet racking plus small part shelving. Mainly down to their rapid expansion, they were storing a vast number of products off site and wanted to bring it all under one roof and regain control of their own stock.
Our solution
Following initial consultations, and upon receiving the building design drawings, we a presented a few options to them for their approval. As we had worked closely with them previously, we had a good understanding of their business and storage needs and were able to offer a solution that met their requirement. Once the building was nearing completion, we met on site to clarify the design and have a final measure, after a few small tweaks the project was given the green light.
The result
The project was a great success, we installed P90+ Pallet Racking, providing approximately 1000 pallet spaces, plus small part shelving with 320no picking locations. The racking was completed with Steel column guards and Rack End Protectors, along with safety barriers to two aisles. These are to help prevent damage to the pallet racking. Heavy duty Timber decking were installed to every level, this ensures that pallets are unable to fall if mis-judged by a fork truck driver. Ensuring that safety within the warehouse was given the upmost importance to employees.
As a result, they now have a fully operational warehouse accommodating all their storage needs. Finally, we have also been granted the contract to carry out their SEMA annual rack inspections.
