Dexion Anglia were asked to work alongside one of the largest retail clothing companies in the UK, bringing more than 240 of the world’s finest designers including Gucci, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga and Moncler, to customers in over 170 countries.
Following rapid expansion since incorporation, Childrensalon moved their product storage from the high street boutique they still have, to a new large premises, which allowed them to store more of the clothing brands they sell. They have since continued that expansion to utilise many warehouses on the same estate.
Business need
In line with their growth, Childrensalon needed to add another new warehouse to house more stock to allow them to keep up with customer demand. Through our contact with principal contractor Sussex Partitions, we were requested to provide a layout and price to fit new shelving units to two of the three floors of the 1,700m2 mezzanine floor they had purchased to cover the entire area of the warehouse.
Our Solution
As they had already had previous installations of Link 51 Euro Shelving in the other units they managed, we recommended this throughout this project for continuity.
We offered a mixture of standard and hanging rail shelving, split between the two floors. The hanging rail bays were on the first floor, and the standard shelving was installed on the second floor. Leaving the ground floor open for future growth should they wish to put shelving here as well.
The Result
Over 1,500 bays of shelving were installed across two levels, for convenient and easily accessible storage. This provided a more streamlined solution for their order pickers and allowed them more flexibility when storing a range of different ranges.
Since the installation, they have been able to vastly increase the range of clothing they are storing. This has led to greatly reduced picking times due to the layout design of the shelving runs, and their proximity to the goods lifts and stair access points.
The powder coated finish offers a clean, professional, and modern look, with clad sides and backs being implemented in various locations to alleviate stock becoming mixed together, or from falling behind the shelving units.

The company The Childrens Salon was founded in 1952 in a boutique store in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Following success throughout the next 47 years, in 1999, they relaunched the brand to Childrensalon with an online marketplace. This grew very quickly into the international brand it is today, serving thousands of customers in over 170 countries worldwide.
