New Pallet Storage Solution for Kings Lynn Customer
A new customer local to us in Kings Lynn, Norfolk was facing storage challenges and required a cost-effective and efficient solution. They approached us for a second opinion on the best way to increase their pallet storage requirements.
After a meeting over a coffee and a thorough understanding of the customer’s requirements, we proposed a New Link 51 Adjustable Pallet Racking system. The reason for this:
- Flexibility: Link51 adjustable design allowed for future changes in pallet sizes or storage requirements.
- Affordability: It fit within the customer’s budget while still providing a robust and reliable storage solution.
- Lead time: The system was readily available, minimizing downtime for the customer.
- Availability: The customer’s existing racking system is now obsolete, and spares are now longer available: We put forward Link 51 APR as we hold spare components at our Kings Lynn warehouse as well as knowing good leadtime direct for the factory.
Implementation
To ensure a smooth installation and minimize disruption, we re-visited site, and carried out a detailed survey prior to delivery & works commencing.
- Match existing racking levels and datum points: This ensured seamless integration with the customer’s existing racking.
- Accommodate new forklifts: We adjusted the bridging bays to fit the dimensions of the customer’s existing racking and kept aisles in proportion.
Overcoming Challenges
While the installation went smoothly, we encountered a minor setback with a shortage of frame bolts. However, we quickly resolved this by:
- Proactively identifying the issue: Our team was told about the shortage early on and we rectified this within 24 hours.
Results
The project was completed within five days and signed off with SEMA load notices, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The project was complete and provided the customer with:
- Over 700 pallet locations: This significantly increased their storage capacity.
- Improved efficiency: The new racking system allowed for better pallet access and retrieval, creating Euro pallets
- Peace of mind: The customer was confident knowing their pallets were safely and securely stored.
